Dr Deme Karikios
Dr Deme Karikios graduated from the University of Sydney Medical Program in 2005 and obtained his FRACP in 2012. He is a medical oncologist and director of clinical trials at Nepean Cancer Care Centre in Sydney.
Deme has research interests in costs and value of anticancer drugs, and decisions about treatment with expensive unsubsidised anticancer drugs. He was recently awarded (pending the acceptance of corrections!) his PhD entitled “The consequences of rising anticancer drug costs in Australia” which he was undertaking at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre, University of Sydney.
Deme has an interest in cancer care policy, is an executive member of the Medical Oncology Group of Australia and a member of the Economics Subcommittee of the PBAC.
